Program Objective:
To enhance the surgical skills of eye surgeons in the field of cataract surgery through structured, training under expert mentorship.
Program Highlights:
- Video Lectures on surgical principles & complication management
- Cataract Surgery - Phacoemulsification, Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery
- Training in surgical planning, decision making & complication handling
- Pre Operative assessment, Identifying risk factors in complex cases
- Daily video analysis and feedback sessions
- Emphasis on understanding the "why" behind each surgical step
Facilities & Equipment:
- Phaco Machines: Alcon Centurion, Legion, AMO Sovereign Compact (Optional)
- Operating Microscopes: Zeiss Lumera i, Visu 1 FR XY with 4K video recording
- Lenses: Indian Foldable IOLs
- OVDs: Indian OVD
Advanced Training Option:
- For experienced trainees:
- Operate on complex cases: mature, dense, ultrasoft cataracts
- Training in CTR insertion & pupil expansion devices
- Management of Complications
Video Analysis & Feedback:
- All surgeries recorded & provided to trainee
- Daily review of performance & personalized improvement plans
- Trainees must bring a laptop and external hard drive
Eligibility Criteria:
- MBBS with MS/MD/DNB in Ophthalmology or equivalent recognized degree
- Completed, certified residency program in Ophthalmology
- Experience with microsurgery and foot pedal microscope control
- Minimum 500 MSICS/ECCE and 30 phaco surgeries
- Proficient in CCC, hydrodissection, nucleus rotation
Not suitable for surgically inexperienced doctors
Duration:
- 2 to 8 weeks

Selection Criteria:
- TA trainee should submit the NMC application form along with other required documents. (The NMC is mainly concerned with the qualification and Registration from the national council. Both the documents and their English translation are essential.)
- The Registration fee of NMC will be paid by the hospital and this can be reimbursed on arrival.
- Normally it takes 2 months to get NMC approval.
- Once we receive the approval your training programme schedule will be fixed.

- We will arrange boarding from airport and accommodation according to your request.
Pre-requisites:
- Completed online application form.
- Certificate of specialist training in ophthalmology.
- Completed Medical Council of India Application form.
