Dr. Basavashree Chimkode pursued her M.B.B.S degree from Karnataka Institute of Medical Science, Hubli and completed her post-graduation in ophthalmology (DOMS) at the same institute. She completed her DNB in ophthalmology from the National Board of Examination, New Delhi. She has done a long-term Glaucoma fellowship from Nethradhama Super Speciality Eye Hospital, Bangalore. She has worked as a consultant at Vasan Eye Care Hospital Bangalore for a period of one year. and, also worked as a consultant at Nethradhama Super Speciality Eye Hospital, Bangalore for one year. She is a lifetime member of the Karnataka ophthalmic society, All India ophthalmological society and Glaucoma Society of India (GSI). She has presented various papers and posters at state and national conferences. She has received Best Paper Award at ERUDIO 2019 held at Coimbatore.
